ONU Hosts Cybersecurity Lecture Series

1-21-2020 release from Olivet Nazarene University

Olivet Nazarene University’s Department of Computer Science and Emerging Technologies is pleased to invite the community to a special presentation on cybersecurity on Thursday, January 23 at 7:00 pm. This complimentary event will be held in Reed Hall of Science, room 330.

As society increasingly becomes dependent on technology, organizations must reciprocally learn about cyber attack risks and how to increase privacy controls. The goal of Olivet’s Cybersecurity lecture series is to help students and the greater community understand cyber risks.

Continuing the Cybersecurity lecture series, Olivet will host cybersecurity professionals, Colette and Sydney Mann. Colette is the executive vice president of Information Technology at First American Bank and will be addressing cybersecurity issues facing the banking industry. Her daughter Sydney is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois and a cyber risk services consultant for Deloitte & Touche. Sydney will be speaking about careers in cybersecurity and how her preparation in college enabled her to enter this emerging field.
