Illinois Black Business Survey

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Office of Minority Economic Empowerment (OMEE), Chicago State University (CSU) and Chicago Urban League (CUL) are conducting a statewide survey to better understand the unique challenges Black business owners across Illinois are facing. We are requesting your participation if you identify as a Black or African American owned business located in Illinois.

The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. As the owner of the business if you agree to complete this survey, you will be asked questions regarding your needs, challenges and motivation as a business owner. You will also be asked questions related to your background as the owner of the business. The information provided will be used to inform strategic efforts and identify priorities for DCEO – OMEE in order to improve the business environment and better serve Black businesses throughout the state.

Take the survey here.

This survey has been approved by the Institutional Review Board of CSU. There are no risks associated with participating in this study. The survey collects no identifying information of any respondent. All the responses in the survey will be recorded anonymously. Your participation in the survey is voluntary, and you are free to withdraw your participation at any time.

DCEO, CSU and CUL will post the survey summary report on their respective websites for review.
