ARPA Funding Available

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was established to help speed up COVID-19 recovery efforts. Kankakee County received $21.3 million in ARPA funds. The Kankakee County Board introduced the Respond, Revitalize, and Reinvest initiative is help distribute this funding within the community.

Businesses and organizations are encouraged to apply for a portion of this funding through the County. The Economic Alliance of Kankakee County, in partnership with Kankakee County and the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce will host a webinar on how to apply and what qualifies as an eligible expense. This webinar is scheduled for March 31, 2022 at 12 Noon. It is free and open to the public.

Governmental bodies have until December 2024 to determine where ARPA funds will be spent. Any money not spent by December 2026 must be returned to the federal government.
