Riverside Healthcare Completes Rush-Riverside Cancer Institute Expansion


Riverside Healthcare in November announced the completion and grand opening of the expanded Rush-Riverside Cancer Institute in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The 8,300 square foot facility, home to the Betty Burch Bridgewater Center for Radiation Therapy, is now also home to the Center for Medical Oncology, uniting Riverside's cancer care experts as well as providing expanded services, treatments, technologies and support under one roof.
 
"Our cancer program is about people, and bringing these expanded services and this level of experience and expertise together to fight cancer in our local communities and the region at large is the right thing to do," said Phil Kambic, President and CEO of Riverside Healthcare. "This newly improved setting is a symbol of our commitment to developing an integrated health care delivery system in the continued fight against cancer."
 
The expanded site includes:
 
  • Medical oncologists and hematologists
  • Radiation oncologists
  • Cancer care advanced practice providers and experienced staff
  • Chemotherapy and radiation therapy and treatments
  • Sterotactic radiosurgery and sterotactic body radiation therapy
  • Onsite pharmacy and laboratory services health and well-being education and support

  • Expanded ability to serve the needs of individuals and families

  • Increased number of exam rooms and infusion chairs

Riverside Healthcare partnered with architect/designer Jensen & Halstead and general contractor Johnson Downs Construction Company, Inc. for the $3 million expansion that began in May 2015.
